How irrelevant are the Hawks?
I guess that the Worldwide Network is pointing out just how small Mike Bibby's contribution to the Hawks has been...at least they have Shelden's stats listed...
Hawks to Quell the Rockets Glare?
It's another banner day for the Atlanta Hawks; the Atlanta Spirit still exists, Billy Knight is still running things, Mike Woodson is still the coach and they are facing the 4th hottest team in NBA history tonight.
I remember something about Mike Woodson and "defensive wiz" being lumped together when Woodson was hired from Detroit. Apparently Coach Woodson has lost his magic. Over their first 50 games, the Hawks allowed 110+ points in only 8 games, 3 of which went to OT. However, over the last 13, they have allowed 110+ points 7 Times! The Rockets have gone over 100 in 5 of 7 games since Yao went down. This should not be a close game.
The Hawks are often lambasted, and rightfully so, for taking Marvin Williams over Deron Williams and Chris Paul. Luther Head is certainly not on the level of Paul or D. Williams, but he has carved a nice niche for himself in Houston and is a better option at PG than anything the Hawks had before Bibby arrived.
